The whole apparatus of commercial aviation is designed to convince you that terror is actually a consumer amenity, like the neck pillow they sell you for nine dollars in the terminal shop next to the overpriced paperbacks nobody will read, and I have never once believed it, not for a second, not even now when believing things has become such a low bar that entire nations clear it daily.

The Attack's singer sits on the edge of a sink because there's nowhere else left to sit. I understand him completely. Grief rearranges the furniture of your life without asking, moves the cellar to the top floor, and you spend the rest of your days pretending you always knew where the chairs were.

I hear you, Gary. That's a nice read.

John Du Cann was such a great guitarist; it's a real shame that more folks don't know about/haven't heard him.

Could not agree more!

I've heard some bootlegs from the Thin Lizzy tour he subbed on — not really the right fit for that band, but he'd be a lot better known today if he'd stayed with them.

Interesting, didn't know he played with them. Yeah, kinda like Dick Wagner—his own band didn't blow up and then he played support, another backgrounder.

Nothing unnerving and not really trippy (a bit of I Can See For Miles in there maybe) and it's not really about flying despite its title. But this is great. Pretty sure Rick Springfield has said this was the first song he wrote. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ws5ssUk3T-Y

Killer track! That somehow slipped through the cracks for me. Thanks for sharing!
